We're still alive!!

Ha ha! Like my title? *grins* It has been so long since I've blogged I'm sure most of you thought I fell off the face of the planet.

I'm so sorry I got behind like that. It makes me sad because I look at this little blog as a sort of journal of our life. I absolutely LOVE looking back at previous entries and remembering all the fun stuff we've done.

Needless to say, I think I'm back on course now. I suppose instead of trying to remember and fill in all those missing weeks... I'll just start back with our Yosemite vacation and go forward from here.

Sooooo, at the end of May Kenny and I took a wonderfully fun trip West along with my sweet Dad and Mom. We flew to Las Vegas where we stayed for one night at the MGM Grand.

You know how much I love to get a good deal on hotel rooms and vacations and such, well I discovered that if we signed up to receive e-mail's of special deals from the MGM Grand we could get a great deal on a hotel room. So, I signed up with my spare e-mail address and we got our rooms for under $65 a night! Right on the Las Vegas strip! *grins*You can't imagine how colossal and jaw-droppingly big these casino resorts are!! We want to meet the architects who thought up all these amazing designs. I just can't imagine!

After we got checked in and settled for a moment we took off to walk all along and tour the Las Vegas strip...

We had a great time and walked for what seemed like for-eve-er *laughs* I think we just about wore my Mom out on the first night! We got to see the beautiful forum shops at Caesars Palace. I love the way the ceilings are painted and lit to look like you are outside and I am so impressed by these spiral escalators! Wow!!

Would you believe with all this walking we didn't do a bit of gambling, not even a single slot machine!?! We walked by The Mirage and stopped just in time to see the volcano erupt!I can't believe it is so hot! You can feel the explosions of heat on your face. And I love the tribal music and drumbeat as it's blasting lava *winks*

We finished off the night seeing the flashy Bellagio fountains. That feels like the quintessential "Las Vegas" moment. Frank Sinatra's "fly me to the moon" playing on the speakers and enchanting fountains of water dancing and lit from below, I'm mesmerized and could just stay and watch forever. I keep telling Kenny we need to install these fountains in our pool! *laughs*

Stay tuned for day two of our vacation tomorrow!!
