Yum! Peaches

Look at this little hunk of love! My sweet nephew Griffin getting one of his first few tastes of peaches from Grandma *grins*
I just adore getting to spend my lunch with my precious nephews and my Mom and Dad. It is such a fun treat, I wish I could do it for the rest of my life! *grins*
Griff is mostly still on breast milk, but he's enjoying a few tastes of yummy fruits and veggies. I just can't believe what a good baby he is. He is always happy, contently cooing and just smiling all over the place. I want to pack him up and take him everywhere with me and just show off his cuteness!
Look at him grinning from cheek to cheek, wow!! My baby fever is in over drive now *laughs*
I just love this last picture where he is making perfect eye contact with Grandma. I think he's in love *grins* so special!

Blue skies, smilin' at me

Last Thursday Kenny coached his first baseball game of the season. It was such a beautiful day, just thrilling to be outside in the sunshine *grins*
After coaching three sports, Soccer, Basketball and Baseball for several years Kenny decided this year he would just focus on Soccer and spend his extra time at home with me (yay!). Well.....the baseball coach who was taking over this year had an accident during practice, a lone ball hit him in the face and he was away from school for several weeks! Poor guy!
Kenny agreeably said he would fill in until the regular coach could come back, so I get the pleasure of watching my cute hubby lead the baseball team again this year *grins*

(here he is warming up with the guys)

This game was scheduled on a high school baseball field. Lush green grass, soft dirt to slide in and an actual pitchers mound! The titans got to warm up for about forty five minutes just waiting on the other team to get there....apparently they had some bus issues.
We weren't sure they were going to get to have a game, but the umpire finally showed up and the other team wasn't far behind.
Here is Kenny talking to the umpire. I'm almost certain, by reading their lips that this is how the conversation went...

Umpire: who is that amazing woman up there in the stands behind your team!?
Kenny: well sir, that is my phenomenally gorgeous wife!

Umpire: wow! She is just radiant, look at her hair cascading in the breeze!
Kenny: I know, and you should taste her cooking, simply the best!

okay, okay, maybe they were discussing March Madness and the basketball games, but I'm pretty sure that they were thinking about me. *laughs*

Once the other team showed up the game got underway. Kenny got to try out a couple different pitchers. They were all working so hard, trying their best!
It was a great game! We lost at the end of the final inning, but it was a good start to the season, getting ready for the next big game!

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to...

Oh weekend of all weekends! We're always excited when Julie and Neil get to come down to visit. This weekend was extra special because it was Julie's birthday celebration *grins*We all got together at Dad and Mom's house and had the party on Friday evening, and would you believe this crazy weather....the very next day, the first day of Spring, a freak snow storm was predicted! So, we celebrated like crazy and Neil and Julie had to leave early to get out ahead of the storm.Bryce is always a good helper when it comes to presents *grins*This year he thought Julie herself was the best present of all, she deserved her own bow! Julie did get some fun gifts, cutie cute green flip flops, a fun black purse, some girlie lotions and makeup, alright!! Here's most of the family watching her unwrap presents... it's hard to get us all in one picture *winks*After presents we all had strawberry Hawaiian wedding cake! Ooooooh it was so very tasty! Way to go Mom! How could you go wrong with strawberries, my favorite fruit! *grins*
We were all pretty sad (hence this blog title) that Neil and Julie had to whisk away early, but the spring snow storm did strike, and we'd rather have them safe than here with us. We hope you had a happy birthday Julie! Thank you for coming down to see us!!

Spring catch up!

Oh my, I am so embarrassed. I've been a sad excuse for a blogger for a month now! I keep telling myself that one of these days I'll have time to sit down and write separate posts for all the fun things we've been doing, but.... it just isn't happening.

So, I'm going to do a great big, giant, bulletined blog and get everything updated. That way I'll be back to square one and can return to my regular blogging schedule......hopefully *grins*

1. Kenny and I went to see Avatar in the theaters! Ever since the first time we saw the trailer to this movie we knew it was something special. We kept telling ourselves, "let's go see it this weekend" and just kept putting it off. But finally, after long delay we got ourselves up to AMC and took in a matinee. We were a little intimidated with all the options for this movie...regular, 3D, Imax 3D...wow! We were a little nervous that 3D would make us queasy. We actually googled all the options to see if anyone had reviewed to say what would be the best and we finally decided to see it in 3D, but NOT in Imax just to save our stomachs any trouble *laughs*

It was a really great movie. Interesting story line and excellent graphics. It didn't feel super long (even though it clocked in at over three hours!) and the 3D effects were fun without making you sick. *grins* I'm glad we got to see it on the big screen!

2. I ran for six miles! Ever since this post when I achieve a new "high number" of miles I jot a little note in my head to blog about it. For example, the first Saturday when I accomplished three miles I was thinking "wow, oh, wow! Three miles, I never thought I'd be able to run for three straight miles without stopping"....then the following Saturday I made four miles, the next Saturday was five miles, and now I've survived six whole miles...in a row! Without stopping! *laughs*

(this isn't me, but it's a cool picture huh!)

I'm still feeling pretty intimidated about running THIRTEEN miles, but after surviving six I think I'll make it.

3. Dad and Mom gave us a brand new computer! One Saturday after completing a long run at lake Hefner, Kenny and I stopped by my Mom and Dad's house to help them move some furniture. We moved a big work bench, a couple of couches and then my Dad pointed us to some big boxes in the corner. We agreeably hoisted them up and asked where they should go. My Dad casually said "in your car if you'd like them". We looked closer and realised that it was an unbelievable brand new computer and huge flat panel monitor! Wow oh wow! We were just speechless!

We set the computer up in our dining room for now and are just having the time of our lives with it! We even got to watch a Kansas State basketball game on the computer since it wasn't available on our tv. Thanks a billion Dad and Mom! We sure love it!!

4. I got to go to a beautiful bridal shower! My youngest sister Lori, along with three of her best friends, hosted a personal shower for her friend Westin who is getting married in April.
Westin was a gorgeous guest book attendant at my wedding and I'm so excited to see her happily married as well.
The shower went off without a hitch. They served a heavenly spread of food and punch, and Westin received a bunch of lovely lingerie. It was a ton of fun!
5. Kenny and I got to share lunch with our dear friends Stephanie and Jeremy and their precious baby Olivia! After far too long we finally decided to meet at Mimi's cafe and have lunch together on Saturday. We have such fun spending time with them! We were laughing the entire time. Oliva was an absolute angel, just cooing and smiling in her little carrier. It is such fun to see my beautiful best friend be a Mom, wow!

6. Spring Break! This week should really be renamed Spring Break(your husband's back he's working so hard)...my dear sweet hubby agreed to not only NOT go on a trip over spring break, but to actually spend his week of freedom doing work around our house! He got so much done!!

Besides all the little stuff like laundry and dishes that he lovingly did for me while I was at work, he also did some big tasks like raking off the lawn, planting new grass seed and trimming back the bushes to get ready for spring! He cleaned up the swimming pool and got it all ready for swim time, sorted through a bunch of his sports cards and listed a lot for sale on e-bay.

He used the two ton jackhammer to bust off a lot of the small rock on our back patio, we're getting ready for a few changes out there! Then for his final task he emptied out our third bedroom sorting through all the "stuff" stacked a mile high and got that room ready for it's big make over *grins* (I can't wait!)

Thank you Kenny for being the amazing hubby that you are!! I love you so much!

I know there are a billion more things I could post on this list, new recipes I've been trying out, how I'm SO excited that spring is here, but you're probably getting worn out from all this reading *laughs* I promise to be a better blogger in the future *grins*
